UWC-GB Fun Run 2008
The Event: The Clapham Common 10km Run
Lowri Sufflebotham (PC:02-04) and her brother, Aaron, will be running the 10km Clapham Common Challenge on Sunday September 7th to raise funds for UWC scholarships with the support of friends and alumni.
In the spirit of the Olympics, the UWC Network group in the UK invites you to form our very own "Team GB" made up of at least one running representative of each college, so if you would like to join Lowri to represent your college then please get in touch as soon as possible: lowri_shufflebotham[at]yahoo.co.uk.
The Clapham Common 10km Run is suitable for all runners, from veteran participants to complete beginners. Each runner will need to pay a registration fee to the organising company, Innovation Sports, which covers the provision of all the necessities on the day, including water stations, stewards and medical care. For more details of the event itself, please visit their webpage: http://www.innovationsports.co.uk/running_cc10k.html.
Not much of a runner? Don’t you worry! We’d love you to come and support the runners and/or join in the fun at the post-run Picnic! [Please let us know if you’re planning on being there] The London Second Sunday group are planning an afternoon picnic after the run, so there will be plenty of opportunities to join in: contact events[at]uwc.org.uk to find out more. You can also visit the UWC FUN RUNNERS LONDON 2008 Facebook group to find out who has already signed up for the fun day out: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=10019364980
Even if you can’t make it to London, you can still participate by sponsoring the runners through our JustGiving page: http://www.justgiving.com/uwcgb-funrun-2008
